Thanks So Much Butterfly

I have another card to share today using the gorgeous Altenew Butterflies and Prima Brush Strokes stamp sets.

After stamping my brush strokes in some of Altenew's new inks, I used my MISTI to stamp the butterfly with the same inks. I stamped the large solid image first, followed by the outline stamp. I love the look of these beautiful layered stamps and the MISTI makes lining up the layers so easy. Love that fabulous tool and I don't know how we managed without it.

The sentiment is an old wooden stamp from my stash. The panel was die cut with a SSS Stitched Rectangle Die, creating a frame around the panel. Lastly, the panel was adhered to the card base with fun foam.

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Time Out Challenge #35 - Nature with the Optional Twist of Animals
     The Paper Players # 254 - Laurie's CAS Challenge - Frames
CAS on Sunday #63 - sketch below

Thanks for visiting! Your sweet comments always brighten my day. Have a wonderful week. Enjoy!

July Paper Arts Club Cards

Hello. I set aside some time today to make my cards for my local Paper Arts Club meeting this week. I always enjoy my one evening out every month with friends making cards designed and taught by Lyn Bernatovich of Lyn's Paper Petunia. It's always a fun time creating and learning new techniques.

My 1st card actually turned out to be my least favorite. I was excited about our "Summer Theme" for our swap card, but after many attempts landing in the bin, I settled with this one. The stamp is a NBUS set, Stamplorations Beach Therapy. I attempted to create a beach scene with distress inks, but my antique linen sand looks white in the photo. The images are colored with distress markers. My panel was die cut with SSS Stitched Rectangles, layered over black die cut CS and added to a Hero Arts Earth Notecard.

My second card is for our Everson Museum Christmas tree we decorate and donate every year. I used another NBUS set, SSS with Wplus9 Many Thanks, on my one layer card. Clear Wink of Stella was added for some sparkle, along with sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. You can see the WOS a little better in this photo -

Lastly, my third and favorite card!

Of course, I had to use one of my Bird Crazy birds and my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. We have a challenge every month and this month was to use this Tic-Tac-Toe board.

I actually combined two lines in my card - the left line down and the diagonal line from bottom left to top right. I watercolored my bird and popped it up on the panel. The sentiment is from the same set I used in this post and was embossed with black EP. Her cute little party hat is also black heat embossed. Once again, I used a stitched rectangle die on the panel that is also adhered with foam. I used another NBUS stamp for the background on my card base, Create A Stamp Arrows. In hindsight, I should have die cut a smaller rectangle so the arrows would show more. Next time.

I'm entering my cards into these challenges:

Card 1 - Less is More: Week 233 - Life's a Beach!

              Freshly Made Sketches #195
One Layer Simplicity - Sparkle & Shine

Card 3 - Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes
CAS-ual Chic: Utterly Adorable Layers #1 - Embossing

If you're still with me, thanks for hanging in! Playdays are always fun. Have a great rest of the weekend. Enjoy!

You Know You're Getting Older

I'm still here! Sorry I've been absent for so long. Almost 2 weeks without a post! Between summer school starting and getting a new skincare business off the ground, I've had very little time to play. Today I'm finally sharing a birthday card I made for a friend and retired co-worker.

Don't you just adore this Art Impressions Deep Breath Birthday stamp? Hobby Lobby now has a few AI stamps in stock. My dear stamping buddy, Rosalie, knew I love this one and grabbed it for me recently. Thank you again, my friend!

Once again, I used my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers to watercolor. I am totally in love with these markers. The sentiment is is from CTMH Just a Number Occasions set. The inside of the card says -"the candles cost more than the cake!". Too funny!

I am entering this into these challenges:
Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes!
     Virginia's View Challenge #16 - 100% Stamped
Take It Make It Challenge: July - 'Take a Stamp' Anything Goes!
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Anything Goes!

Thanks for stopping by. I always love reading your comments. Happy Friday tomorrow. Enjoy!

You & Me

Hi. Another week has flown by and I haven't been able to make anything or blog until today. I finally was able to spend the day at my stamping buddy's house making some cards. Due to her husband's recent knee replacement, we haven't been able to get together as often as we usually do. We had so much fun!

This is one of my cards from today. Yes, I used all my favorite products - Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps, Tim Holtz Handwritten Sentiments stamp set, SSS Stitched Rectangle Dies and Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. Before I adhered my watercolored birds onto the card base, I spritzed the panel with my Tim Holtz Distress Marker Spritzer and Spiced Marmalade DI. I added 3 tiny hearts and the stitched frame. I am so in love with these birds and watercoloring. I'm obsessed!

I'm entering this into these challenges:
Addicted to Stamps and More #151 - Anything Goes
The Pink Elephant Challenge #305 - Anything Goes
Snippets Playground Week 183 - I used snippets of watercolor paper
Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge July 2015 - stamping

Also, I  want to thank all the voters at Muse Challenge #122 for voting this card as a favorite. What an honor! Thank you so very much.

Tomorrow we have our annual family pool party, which is always a blast. I'm hoping the horrendous rain that we had earlier in the week that caused so much flooding locally is not going to reappear. I love just lounging in the sun by the pool watching all my nieces and nephews swim. Have a great weekend! Enjoy!
